FALL TRAVEL TEAMS
While our staff still focuses on player development in the Fall, a much greater effort is made to work with players and their families on navigating the college recruiting process. We want to help these players open as many doors as possible to further their career. The MBA staff will also put an extra effort into coordinating with college coach contacts to advertise their players to coaches. We use platforms like Twitter, Fieldlevel, etc. to accomplish this.
We practice 1x/week. The location of practices is TBD but we have typically held practices at Whitefish Bay's high school field.
We play roughly 7 tournaments in the Fall, depending on roster size. Our goal each weekend is to hit a different college geography where players can showcase themselves and attract a different set of college coaches each weekend. Places we have played in the past include Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Typical Fall tournaments are set up so teams play 2 games Saturday and 2 games Sunday. This allows no school to be missed. It also allows football or other Fall sport players to play with the team if they chose to do so.
SUMMER TRAVEL TEAMS
Indoor training starts in late October and goes until the beginning of April for the youth teams (13U-14U) and until the High School season starts for HS teams. Our offseason program uses technology such as Hittrax, Stalker radar and more to track player progression throughout the year. All players will go through a strength program that will measure their progression the same way as in their baseball skills. On top of this, players get full access to the facility and weight room. MBA players receive discounted rates on all additional training programs.
Players also receive recruiting guidance from our staff, that includes 1-on-1 meetings, recruiting and skills videos, and a custom player page to share with college coaches.
Once we’re outside we’ll have two team practices per week. Youth teams will participate in 7-12 weekend tournaments from late April through the end of July. High School teams will play in 7-8 tournaments from late May through July. The amount of travel for each team will depend on the age and caliber of the team, but most tournaments will be within 3 hours.
